Kitchens

Working within a budget is possible!

A kitchen is said to be the heart of the home and I couldn’t agree more. A kitchen can sell your home even if the rest of the home is not in the best shape. Unfortunately, it is also typically the most expensive room to renovate in the house. Increasing costs of materials over the last three years have not improved the situation. ORG does not inflate or overcharge material costs. We bill the client for the exact cost of materials used for the project. We can assist with the kitchen design without the fees of a boutique design-build firm which typically have notable overhead.  I, as the owner, coordinate and am involved in every step of our kitchen renovations.  We understand the investment you are making in your home and that you are pouring your hard-earned money into this project and we regularly have final costs of projects coming in under our competition. This is achieved in the following ways: I have no commercial office space, I only subcontract technical work that should be subcontracted to certified professionals (plumbers, electricians, etc), and I do not inflate material costs. I have been doing renovations for over 15 years and I take pride in continuous learning in my field.

Some things to keep in mind when budgeting for a new kitchen:

The cost to renovate a kitchen can vary significantly depending on:

  • the overall size

  • finishing materials selected

  • enlarging the current space

  • change of layout affecting electrical and plumbing supply

  • if City of Ottawa building permits are required

A kitchen is an extremely difficult room to put an average price on. The materials choices are so vast in a kitchen and have the ability to impact price significantly even on a 10 x 10 kitchen depending on finishes, changes, wall removal, etc.

A typical kitchen would take the Ottawa Renovation Group 3 to 6 weeks to complete.

TRENDS

Materials in a kitchen

The Ottawa Renovation Group specializes in constructing IKEA kitchens. The reason is, they produce good quality and economical kitchens that an average person can afford.

The quality of these cabinets is excellent and will last a very long time. Additionally, their storage options and accessories are second to none. IKEA is almost always the innovators in the space bringing new storage ideas before anyone else does.

With in stock cabinetry and a wide range of sizes, it is very easy to get the custom look with an IKEA kitchen at a fraction of the cost of custom made cabinetry.
